Hi,

I'm working on a house for a project and I have a staircase in the home I am designing. When I do my renderings, the staircase stands out against the rest of the area because it has a default gray texture. I am wondering if there is a way to edit the texture of the staircase to something of my own choosing.

Stair by component: Select stair -> edit type -> run type -> materials and finishes

Stair by sketch: Select stair -> edit type -> materials and finishes

Edit the stair, under Supports>Right Support Type click the ... to open the Stringer Type properties and you can change the material there, do the same for the left support.  For the risers and treads its under the Contruction>Run Type then click the ...

Thank you guys for your help. I can't seem to find an option to change the texture of the railing and the stringer. Any ideas on how I could do that?

Railing: dbl click on the railing family name in your project browser (under Families). Type properties window will pop up.

Stringer: hover over a stringer and tab until it’s selectable. Select -> Edit Type -> Material

Which material have you used? We are planning to remodel our home and are wondering about the same i.e. stair material. On someones recommendation, we hired a home renovation contractor and they suggested we Peel & Stick Nonskid Bullnose Carpet Stair Treads, Cobbler Brown, Set, Nylon like materials on our interior theme. Hiring a general contractor NJ who will create beautiful custom designs is always satisfying.
