Hey guys.  I'm semi-new here, and I have a question.  Whenever I try to download carpets or rugs (and it might be with other objects, haven't tried it yet), the images always come up white.  No design, no nothing.  Just the basic outline in black.  I'm using Revit 2015.  What is this and how can I fix it?  Thanks!

~Emma

hi Emma,

I have a feeling you just need to change your Visual Style from Hidden to Realistic. I have uploaded two pictures below to show you where you can change visual style.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

hotkeys for cycling through visual styles:

HL = hidden line = black and white

WF = Wireframe = black lines and transparent

SD = Shaded with edges = colors

RY = Raytrace = newer feature, weird pseudo-rendering

?? - Consistent colors - same as SD but doesn't shade differently at angles

?? - Realistic - uses rendering materials but no light calculations

Hit the cube at the bottom of any view window to see more options.

Thanks for the help, but it's still not working.  I set it to realistic, and it looks like the file attached.  Any other ideas?

Hi Emma,

Could you attach the family?

I'm assuming when you ahd the drawing in Hidden Line that is when you had the "the images always come up white.  No design, no nothing.  Just the basic outline in black. " or did switching between the views not help?

Re-reading your post, when you "images" do you mean materials / pictures on the item?

If so, maybe this link would be of help?
