I'm currently in the process of adapting the families in our office Revit library to families with English-named parameters. (It's a bilingual office).

Though for some words I can find a proper English word. Mainly with windows and exterior doors. In Belgium we install windows and doors behind the facade bricks.

There are 2 words I can't seem to properly translate (with one word): "slag" and "dagdiepte". I've added an image with the explanation. Which terms do you gys use?

"dagdiepte" - setback

"slag" - we don't define this.   We have rough opening and finish opening.  Both are total widths.

Thanks WWHub.

For "Slag" I found the word "Rebate" or "Rebat", though I don't know how common these terms are.

Look at the following. https://www.google.com/search?q=rabit&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=rabbeted

Rabbet (British Rebate) - Not what you are looking for.

I seem to keep finding different words.

On the english site of Reynaers, they use "Rebate" for the distance for which the window is placed behind the bricks. The difference between interior and exterior is defined as "offset".

Dagdiepte – setback or offset (same thing). Both are used often.

Slag – reveal
