Has anyone else had trouble controlling openings? When I try to change the dimensions of an opening I've created in a wall, the top constraint cannot be change to none, and the base constraint does not work either--very frustrating. Is there a trick to controlling openings?

I can't be of any help here, openings are being a PITA in my project too.

I have a wall full of openings with curtainwall. When I placed them the other day I had no problem getting them to align to the windows, but now when I click on align the opening doesn't budge and I don't get the stretch arrows when I click on the opening as I did before.

Anyone have any clue what is going on? It's very frustrating.

TIA

Diane

I don't like the openings tool.

Most of the time, I use the edit profile to create an opening but that can cause other problems.  Another solution is to build a wall based family that has an instance base or type based controllable void that cuts your wall.  Or use the cased opening door family and remove the casing and give the door a number that will filter out in your schedules.

I found that if I pulled the curtainwall away from the edge of the opening I was able to then use the align tool. :-/  Don't know why, but it worked.

I'll look into your suggestion in the future. Thanks
