Hello, I'm using Revit Architecture 2014.

Is there any way I can stop Revit re-starting it's room numbering from 1 each time I tag rooms in a new phase? (or when I copy and paste rooms to a new phase). I've just realized some of my existing rooms (which last throughout the project) but which have been tagged in a proposed plan take on totally different room number to on the existing plan. And infact there are examples of entirely different rooms in the existing and proposed plans with the same room number. Once a room number has been assigned in any phase, can't it be 'ring fenced' so as not to be used again?

To help solve the problem I thought it would be useful to generate a room schedule with the fields 'phase start' and 'phase end' but these aren't available fields it seems and unfortunately, the schedules are filterable by phase (can't show all phases on one schedule) so I've had to open schedules of all my phases, tile them side by side and renumber/delete rooms on a room-by-room, phase-by-phase basis. Is there an easier solution?

Thanks.

Sorry but the process is what it is except room numbering can be reset when you place the first room in any sequence.  So this means you have to pay attention and think ahead.
