I have a Nvidia Geforce gtx 660m. I go to the autcad recommended software driver page and the list doesnt have my specific model, but does have the lesser models, ie. the GTX 200 series card drivers. has anyone tried to use a similar driver and gotten results? or is it not worth trying the "lesser" driver. Right now I just run revit off the basic driver.

I haven't bothered with special drivers for any of the graphics cards in our office.  I don't feel like it's neccessary.  Some of our older machines have quadroFX4800s, and they're far more likely to crash and burn as "specialized" CAD cards than my trusty R280x with gaming drivers. 

Revit isn't anything special, software-wise. panning around in a 3D view with shadows and ambient occlusion turned on is little more than a bloated, poorly-optimized game.  A good graphics card run by well-supported and common drivers will go a long way.

Thanks for the note. yeah I guess I agree. I got this alienware gaming machine I use. But with the file im working on, a huge 120 unit 7 story project, even the elevations can get slowish. Was looking for options really...
