I am currently in the market for a new inkjet printer mainly for A3 black & white drawings but with added ability to print A2 & colour. I am looking at paying around 1000 to 1500 Australian dollars. I only need the printer for Revit & Autocad. I am currently using a 3 yr old Canon for my A3 drawings but standard of prints for Revit is not as good as with Autocad - thus the need for upgrade. Cheers Leeroy

im sorry i did not see this erlyer.. the best printer depends on budget and what you need it for. to start if you can afford it, is the HP DESIGNJET T610. you can get it for about $2500 and will do cool stuff for rendering. and color dwf stuff which is great for clients 2d 3d.  but if you doing lots of shotr for a project, say 3 or more the i highly recamend to do it at a kinkos, or a place like that. the key is to use somthing like card stock for paper. not laser jet paper. card stock is matt finish and the colors like blacks come out 100% better. the reason for a service like kinkos is they do the color printing in toner rather then ink. toner will handle better and all around look better. when i print 11x17 color renderings i pay about $1 for drafts then when im ready ill print in card stock for presintation. total cost for 4 views of renderings w/ color toner on card stock is like 10-15 dollers for all 4. much less then to buy a 20,000 dollar printer and keep up the service contract....
