I wanted to duplicate the floor plans and add some wall bracing details, So I hid everything not needed and just "Duplicated"

What I got was no ability to dimension on the new view and all my new notes went back to the original.

Help seems to be down.

Can someone explain the 3 Duplicate options?

THANKS!

I need to take a somewhat blank slate (All dimensioms, ref planes and section markers hidden) and make a copy that I can dimension.

I have tried all 3 options and still not able to dimension.

I guess because they are hidden?

When you duplicate a plan, you have three options:

  1. Duplicate view ...( Is a full floor plane but only with model elements.  All VG and view settings are the same.)
  2. Duplicate with detailing....( Same as above except with also with all annotative elements that are currently in the view.)
  3. Duplicate as a dependent....(  Be careful here.  Everything is depedent except for some annotative elements.  Add or delete elements in one view and they are removed/added in the other.)  This is a special view best used for match-line plans.
