Revit Structure 2016,

I have a model for an apartment building with concrete walls. I’m doing a structural package and was wondering what is the best practice for tagging a wall with multiple different wall tags

For example picture 1: one part of the same wall might have different reinforcing (do i need to split this wall..and make another wall type?)

Picture two: I drew parts of the foundation wall all as one type of wall. But now that we have ran the calcs I need different reinforcing in the walls that are vertical in the picture, than the walls that are horizontal. Can I label the walls by a different parameter, that makes it so I can label them individually? Do I need a new wall tag...Do i need to make new walls for every instance where I have different reinforcing but the same wall material/ thickness...?

Thanks

In the wall tag family, you can replace ‘Wall Type’ label type parameter with ‘Mark’, which is an instance parameter. You still have to split the wall, but the wall type can be the same.

With OOTB wall tag, you will have to change the wall type for each segment, if you want a different tag, and frankly, that’s what I would do since you’re putting more rebars, so in fact it’s a different wall.

Yah that's what I figured, I just made a new wall tag with that parameter. Thanks!

I don't know what OOTB is, what is this?

It is a different wall because it has different rebar, but I'm not modelling the rebar, so instead of making 12 more wall types to fish through I figured I'd use tags instead.
