Hello All,

I'm currently working on a structural foundation design and for the first time (in my area) the architect is using Revit.  I've worked thru most my obstacles so far as this is the first time I as a revit user have dealt with linking another model to mine.  My question for you guys is.....  On a wall section that I am creating (after modeling my structural stem wall and footing) either I've gotten the view setting messed up somewhere or I simply just can't seem to figure out why I can still see the arch's modeled wall when I cut a section.  I'm trying to develop a detailed wall section (using components and what not) but I can see thru my foundation like it's in wire frame or something?  For the time being I've created a filled region as a work around but I can't for the life of me figure it out.  Shouldn't my foundation wall not be transparent?  Please see the attached images of before and after my work around.  I know my explanantion isn't very clear probably.  I normally use 2016 but this arch only has 2015 so I'm on version 2015. Thanks for any advice guys!

Your problem is that both model elements are in the same place.  Two options that I know of:

  1. 2D solution:  Copy monitor architects walls and turn his walls off in your model.  In these detail views, you can then edit the cut profile of the CM wall removing the overlapping portion.
  2. 3D solution:  Copy monitor architects walls using your own wall definition and turn his walls off in your model.  Your wall would have the outer layer unlocked and pulled down (or the inner layer unlocked and pulled up.)
