I place a beam system, all works well. However when I edit the boundary the beams never adjust. Yes I hit "Reset System" after I have shifted the boundary then the large green check.

I even began a test project and it did the same thing after I edited the boundary.

None of the joists in the beam system have moved, nor have they become unpinned.

I should note that it will magically work 1 times out of 30 or more. Is this a bug perhaps?

Here is the test project. The dashed beam system is the edited boundary. The joists did not conform to the new boundary after "Reset System" was clicked.

Always post what Revit you are trying to talk about.

This is controlled by the bar joist’s start/end offset in properties. It’s a ‘instance’ parameter, so you need select all your bar joists, or change the parameter to ‘type’ in the family, or use non-structural walls.

I'm not completely following...Are you saying that the beam system is tied to the wall somehow? Becuase when I do a beam system with no walls below, editing boundary works flawlessly. The ones with a (structural) wall below does not.

If I have to manually select the joists and change their Start and End Offsets, then what's the point of beam systems?

Is your wall structural and in the same place as your 'beam'?

How does Revit know what supports these elements?
