Hi, I have been trying to solve this issue for the past couple of days. The problem is that when I load a family, that I've just created it is not visible in the project plans (inserted families are listed in the project browser family list). I checked visibility graphics and everything seems to be in order. When I load downloaded families - everything works fine, but when I load custom ones, that I have just created it is not visible. Please help, thanks.

There could be a few reasons...

1) Open the family in the family editor and select the object that should be displaying. With the object selected go to visibility on the ribbon and click it. In the popup window check to see that all the boxes are ticked. If there are not ticked they will not display in the relevant plan, section ,elevation, fine, course view format.

2) In the model, check in the project browser that the family you created is listed within the family branch. Confirming that it is there, go to the plan and insert the family. If is does not display, go to a 3D view and try to find it. Check that when it comes into the model it is setting at a vertical location such that you are likely to see it within the plan view. If not lower or raise the family to sit within the view range of your plan. To check what your view range of your plan is, open your plan, go to properties and and scroll down to view range and select it. Within the popup window review what the settings are.

3) Assuming 1 & 2 are not the problem. With the plan view open, type in VV to bring up the visibility settings. Check that the type of family you created is set to be visible

4) Click on the light globe button at the bottom to turn everything on and see if your families appear. Right click on them if they are there and turn then on.

5) Check your phasing is not set in such a way that your family does not show.

6) Check your Design Options is not set in such a way that your family does not show.

Good Luck!

Had the same issue. If I had the family I just created and the family that I wanted to nest in ,open at the same time and picked load into project and loaded into the nested family, I had issues with the newly created family showing up in ref level plan. If I closed the newly created family and loaded from the nested family through the "Insert" tab, there was no issue with visibility in the ref floor plan.
