I have made a new component under the column category, by using extrusions. I then uploaded it into my main model, but for some reason the columns are controlled in the visibility settings by switching off walls. They will turn off if I uncheck columns but they should not turn off if I uncheck walls. Is there some reason this is happening and a way to fix this so I can use visibilty settings properly??

In Revit, we have two column types - architectural and structural. If you place an architectural column against a wall, it will become part of the wall and turn off with the wall. Experiment with this so you understand Revit's rules.
