I`m using Revit 2015. I made a curved ceiling by: model in place-ceiling-extrusion category. When I drop in a 2x2 light it is upside down and when I try to reverse it, it "wont cut instance out of its host". I tried making the ceiling a "roof" and a "generic model" with the same result. What can be done?

Thx

It could be from which direction the in the family file was created from the reference plane. You can try to unconstrain the reference line from the horzontal axis, or move the extrusion of the light to the other side of the axis/ reference plane. If you want to send me a pic of what the family looks like ina front view, i can probably go into a little more detail, if you need.

I have tried to insert the light from the top and from the bottom with the same result. I have tried reversing the direction of the extrusion based on the reference plane. It accepts the light just fine, but will not cut through the bottom of extrusion.  Thanks for your time looking at this!

Insert it from a reflected ceiling plan.
