I HAD ISSUES YESTERDAY WITH REVIT CRASHING (15 TIMES IN ONE DAY). THROUGH A METHOD OF TRIAL AND ERROR I WAS ABLE TO WORK OUT WHEN IT CRASHED AND WHY.

A MATERIAL THAT HAD BEEN IN THE PROJECT FOR A LONG TIME HAD BECOME CORRUPT. WHENEVER I TRIED TO DUPLICATE, OR RENAME THE MATERIAL IT WOKRED. UNTIL I HIT SYNC THEN THE FATAL ERROR OCCURRED. I LOST MY WORK AND A SAVE RECOVERY FILE DID NOT SAVE THE MATERIAL RENAME/DUPLICATE.

I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THIS EXPERIENCE INCASE ANYONE ELSE HAS A SIMILAR ISSUE. HOPEFULLY IT WILL AVOID A LOT OF HAIR PULLING!

Smile

Hi.

The following actions can reduce the frequency of these errors:

  1. Make sure all users have the latest update installed.
  2. Upgrade the graphics card driver to the latest available manufacturer driver.
  3. Disable Hardware Acceleration through Options > Graphics > Graphics Mode.  Un-check "Use hardware Acceleration" (Direct3D®Winking

Thanks,

Probably too high quality objects inside of your project.

Does this sound right?
