Greetings
I received an RFA from a manufacturer. There is a SAT file in this family and it results in an overly complex family that is 6.3 MB.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to reduce the file size? I'm real concerned that this family (will ve placed several times) will affect model performance.

That is a STUPID family so complain to the mfg.
Modify the family and turn off 3D in all 2D views and add 2D linework if needed.
I sometimes place families like this in a workset that is always off but grouped with some 2D linework that is on in the model.

... and now you know why I was looking for the smoking entourage guy ;o)(http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=34760)
Still, if anyone can offer a way to rip this family down to a more reasonable size I will be most grateful.
