Greetings.

In advance, I wish to apologize to the RevitCity purists for this post/request ...

At the direction of my principal, I have been contacting manufacturers and distributers for specific equipment.  This is a challange to say the least.  Some are very cooperative, some already have their equipment on SEEK or their own site.  But for those who don't ... worse WON'T, I have been proceeding with generic equipment or simple "box" extrusions as placeholders.

I would love to place in these generic boxes a Revit family (entourage, probably) of a guy smoking a cigarette looking at his watch.  I've searched around to try to find something like this.

Does anyone have such a Revit dude?  If so, please share ...  :o)thanks.

What the heck does a guy smoking a cigarette have to do with a manufacturer's product?

For the guy - use photoshop.

For the manufacturer items - we have often created 2D families from manufacturer CAD drawings.

Thanks for your response WW

The guy smoking and looking at his watch is to symbolize "Waiting" for the manufacturers to catch up.

The suggestions for creating the equipment families is valid, I've done this myself.  But this is time consuming and incomplete from the point of view of Revit Systems (connections, calculations, etc.).  It's just that in the world of BIM (as we are all hoping for), the manufacturers will do more to contribute.  It's a hope of mine anyway ...

We have come a long way in just a few years thanks to Autodesk setting up SEEK.  That seems to have put a bug under some manufacturers.
