Hello Revit City,

I'm trying to calculate the base trime length totals for a project I'm working on. Essentially I just want to find the room perimeter totals, and subtract total width of all doors and the room seperator lengths. I'm looking for an efficient way to either not include the Room Seperators in the perimeter calcs, or an easy way to calculate the total length of all room seperators in the project.

I don't see a way to get the complete answer in Revit but you can with excel.  Create a room schedule that shows the room perimeter listed by room number.  Create a door schedule also by room that totals the door width.  You can export both of these scedules to excel where they can be combined.

There's also the Roombook extension- I think it can calculate base trim. Its free too. If you do a lot of takeoffs it seems like a really powerful tool (I haven't used it much, because we're not at that point with our transition from CAD yet). HTH
