Hi all.  Quesiton - I have a birck veneer on 8" cmu cavity wall and have extended the brick/cavity and insulation 8" below floor line and this wall sits on a 16" cmu foundation wall with 8" shelf for the 8" cmu to sit on flush with t.o. floor slab on the interior.  tThis works great, as the brick goes below grade as it would be.  However I have a pair of HM doors in this wall.  I have a haunched slab on the inside and a floating slab at the exterior on 4" crushed stone base.  These slabs meet at the centerline of threshold and I have  1" rigid insulation here as a thermal break.

When I set the brick, etc. to be 8" below wall base, it wraps those materials under the door at the opening (as if it was a window).  Since this is a flucsh to slab condition, I would now see both my slabs and brick in section view.  How can I define this -8" vertical offset as a typical condition, with the exception of door locations?  I know a few work arounds, but want this to be accurate for material takeoffs, etc.  What I ended up doing was eliminating the -8" offset and just adding an 8" section of wall which is just brick, airspace and insulation for that 8" section on either side of the door.  Thanks in advance for any input.

You can't do what you want.  Add a wall sketch to remove this area from the wall.

Thanks for the quick feedback WWHUB.  I assume I just make the upwards offset in the wall at the door equal to the 8" (but + instead of -), or is that not important?  Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Look at my image on the previous post.   You can't see it well here but click in the area of attached image.

You edit the wall sketch but you have to go up at the door.
