Is there a way to use a file in the backup folder to completely restore a file?

The issue is the company i work for went from Revit 14 to 15, and we did this in the middle of a project, so i just upgraded the files we were working on from 14 to 15, and archives the 14 files. Well now one of my peers has not upgraded to 15 and needs to use the 14 files. But i deleted that 14 file, but still have the backup files. Is there a way to restore his file using only the backup folder?

P.S.- I am aware of how to back-date files, but you need to have the file open?collaborate tab> and the backup folder makes it so you can choose from a version to back-date to. This solution isn't really going to help me. Just FYI to avoid confusion.

Do you maybe have a 2014 local on your system?   If so, simply open that detached and make a new central.

With our local drives being so large anymore, I always keep my old locals.... at least for a few years.

I checked that yesterday, and thats actually how i fixed this issue. Thank you very much though kind sir. And by the by i do appreciate all the time you dedicate to this site. It's usually the first place i go to if i have a very specific issue, a lot of people i talk with loose me after the first two statements, i'm not the keenest with words, =). But between you and a few others you def make this site the excellent source of knowledge it is. Thank you again.
