I have been using Revit now for about 2 months & have got a reasonably good grasp on most of it but I am still unable to edit my elevations & sections. Can somebody tell me how to perform functions such as erase after an elevation or section has been inserted into a sheet (or before insertion - it doesnt matter) I need to be able to 'pretty' up these views as there is always elements I need to alter & it is too cumbersome most of the time to fiddle around with the model. I would have thought that you could change the sheet to 2d, thus enabling you to work on the sheet as you would in Autocad. Can any one help me please?? cheers

Elevations and Sections ARE the model. To pretty up elevations and sections you can apply the linework (LW) tool, Drafting Detail Lines, Detail Components, and Filled regions on top of the model. The Drafting tools are view specific. When used they don't show up in other views unless you copy and paste them to other views. Post edited on 2006-03-15 16:20:08

thanls so much for the speedy reply. I guess my main question is how dow you erase unwanted lines from elevations & sections. do i need to create a filled region of some kind over the top of the line to be removed? The lines im trying to remove are those scrappy little ground lines where the model meets the terrain. thank you

To erase unwanted lines use the LW tool, select "invisible lines", and pick the lines you want to make invisible.

arccodex1... thanks for your help to date... just one more question - I hope - why is it not possible to make invisible the lines in the middle of a composite wall ? ( ie brick veneer wall) I can only make invisible the outside lines & the same applies for different layers of a floor.

You'll have to goto the walls properties... Edit/New... Edit structure if you want to alter the layers and patterns in a given wall. Or just change your Detail Level to coarse in the View Properties. Post edited on 2006-03-16 10:50:10
