Hi guys, long time no ask a million questions...

Quick tip followed by a question.

I am setting my Bottom of Pipe elevations for drainage and other pipes. My foreman wants to see BOP relative to soffit above.

If it's flat - no problems. I go to an elevation view, copy one of my elevation lines, align to soffit, click "lock". Rename level to "P4 Soffit"

I go to my BOP tag and on the properties browser you see a field called "Relative Base".

I have it set to "Current Level". It's a drop box so all I have to do now is set it to the name of the new elevation, namely, "P4 Soffit".

Voila! Now my foreman can walk with a tape and mark off his hangers at the appropriate heights.

=====

Now here's my problem. The P4 slab tilts upwards in some areas.

Is there any way I could "program/hack/reverse engineer/etc" the BOP tag so it reads from a "Relative Base" that is sloped?

All the best you guys in the New Year. Rock on...

I don't see a way to do what you want.

Dimensions have to be to a real reference.   A point in space has no references.   Where is it?

Seems like your foreman has never used a laser level.
