I am using revit 2014

I am working on a renovation project. I am trying to change the walls that i've previously modeled as 10" basic to 8" basic. There are new construction doors on the wall as well as demolished doors on the wall. So the wall has been patched or cut or something thus far in the project. I keep getting this error when i try to change the wall type:

"Infilling element replaced by a later phase insert must be the same type as the insert's host."

then it doesn't let me change to the new 8" basic wall i want. i've tried changing the phase of the doors so it was all demo doors or all existing or all new construction... but still no luck.

Take the demo off of all items that created openings then change the wall and demo (in correct phase) the openings.

i just tried that and it did not work.

i just gave up on finding the "proper" solution and cut out all the demo doors, deleted the wall, redrew w/ the new wall type, then paste in place the doors again (changing their phasing back to its proper phase)..

not proper, but it worked. dont have any more time to waste!

Sorrythat did not work for you but that was the proper solution.  You may have not found all of your demoed items.

Whenever you demo an opening, Revit will infill the wall opening with the same wall as the original but in the phase of the demo.  That is what caused your error.  Removing the demo removes the infill.
