Hello

I have a multi-purpose building that has two primary types of "occupancies" which are a school and a church. I'm wondering

what the strategy would be to have sub-departments inside those main categories. At present the model is organized

into departments  using the out of box revit parameter but without indicating which occupancy they belong too. I think it

would be beneificial for this model to have departments organized as say:

School:

          -gym

           -home economics

            -work shop

Church

           -scantuary

            -childrens ministries

ect ect hopefully you get the point

What would be a good strategy to do this? Do I modify the room families and add a new "occupancy" parameter and

use the department parameter in the standard way? Also how do I tell revit that a department belongs to a certain

occupancy?

Thanks

There is no such thing as a room family.   Just want you to start using good Revit terms.

Create a shared parameter and assign it to rooms in your project.   If you want this to be taggable in plans, you will have to edit your room tag family.
