I watched a video by BD Mackey Consulting where the istructor right-clicks on a row in the rebar schedule and sees an option "Show ..." to link to the rebar in the View
I am using Revit 2015 R2. When I right-click on a row in the rebar schedule all the options that I see are related to inserting and deleting rows. There is no "Show ..." option.

Your instructor is using 2013 version or older. In later versions, that option was removed from the right click menu and is available on the ribbon only as ‘highlight in model’.
