Pretty much sums it up in the title. Tried many different things and searching on the internet. If anyone knwos how to solve this I would be ecstatic.

It looks like you’re using revit OOTB construction template. The problem is in phasing and overrides settings.
What are the phasing settings of that view and what phase is the 2nd floor geometry created in?

Level 2 phasing filter says Show all
and the phase is: Project Completion

In the 3d View the phase filter was previous plus new. Thank you for the help! I greatly appreciate it.

I think someone has already changed the default phasing settings, because I cannot recreate this condition that you have in your 3D view. Nevertheless, try setting the materials to ‘by category’ for existing and new phase in the phasing graphic overrides window (see pic), or upload your project so we can troubleshoot. This is just a quick fix, not necessarily the best one. The subject is too big to explain everything here. Try some tutorials, they will help you better understand phasing/filter concept:

Also, I would suggest to create your own template file, more suitable for the work that you do.
