I'm having problems with  staircase elements which are not editable or deletable.

At first architects made stairs, made it into a group and copied it around. At some point most of the stairs were deleted and new ones were put into the project. Now I seem to have few stairs which are "ghost" - invisibile in 3D but when u move on it then u can select it (all options are greyed out and cannot be moved or deleted).

It seems like it was excluded from the group but I cannot find the group where it would belong to

The problem is that it is displayed in my structural plans and it cannot be hidden.

Did someone place a floor there, or some other type of extrusion. Does this appear in sections?

No, you cannot see it in sections, it is transperent and when you move on it you can select it.

WW, what is the best way to check it out? If I select any of the groups in browser view then it is not going blue in any cases? but as it is transperent / possibly excluded, then I have no idea what to do.

Please help or suggest any wild ideas.

Thank you

Is it visible in 3D view only? Delete that view and create a new one. Is it still there?

You selected this item somehow and it also shows blue elements behind it.   What does the properties say you have selected?

Yes, it shows itself in my structural plan. I think it is remains of my old stairs which I wanted to delete (elevator shaft got smaller). In plans it is shown as regular stairs (Not transeperent)

I can select it when I hover into my correct stairs and clicl tab to choose elements. It has the same properites as other group elements (greyed out elements - if i right click no element and say "make element editable" then I could change its heigth and length, etc).

Any more questions or how i could help you

I doubt that we can help you except with this:

Look in your browser and you will find all of your named groups.   You can pick those and then show in model.  No maybe you can find the culpret.   If the group says 0 in the mdoel then why not delete the group from the model.

You are the one pointing us to groups.   How many do you have?   Grouping for one instance is a missuse so I would assume you should have very few groups.   That being the case, you could export each one to your library (or place in your model) and then you should be able to see this element because it will no longer be excluded.   Editing the group would then remove it.

Are you sure it's not in a workset or a linked element?

I might even open this project up detached and not preserve worksets.   Then you could start deleting elements in mass quantities until the item disappears. (1/2 the model to begin with - then 1/2 the remaining....)   Then when it does disappear, undo and refine the deletion until you find it.

As we are doing similar aparment houses then for us it is useful to make balconys and stairs into group so they could be copied inside project and into other buildings aswell. It allows us to change automatically all balconys (its concrete elements, fixators and balcony facades). Correct me if we are doing something wrong.

I saved all the groups into rvt files, non of them had extra stairs in them.

All workssets are visible, tried alll disciplins and all filters.

I can try the workset dissattachment... but yes...  Sad

I tried to detach all worksets and delete all the elements and nothing. They still are there

One strange thing I found out was that when I use scope box in 3D then they are transperent (invisible) and when I turn off then they come visible but still not deletable. Any ideas :D ?
