in a project i've created from a template (that I also created) i want to use a "storefront" wall type and no such walltype exists in the wall pull down.  how do I add storefront and exterior glazing wall types to this project?  I tried transfer project standards/wall type from a project that has them, no go.

There is always at least one curtainwall type available, maybe yours was renamed.  Whichever one you have, create a new type from that for your needs.

WWHub - can do, thanks.

What folder has the mullions families?  I need to load them separately too.

Please read your HELP on storefronts: http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-BBC16AF1-88C1-4B2E-A23A-917C3F427E97

Storefront and curtainwalls are created the same and use the same components.  The mullions are still just a rectangle, different size and different panel location but the same families are used for the model - just alter the type.   For detail views, you replace the model elements with detail elements.
