i was wondering if anyone knows how to show surface patterns on renders. i want my roof to look like panels 900mm apart with a seam running down them, and the same with the walls, but cant seem to figure out how i can do it. i am aware that it may be possible using maps but i am not entirely sure how i would go about achieving this.. maybe somebody has a map already saved??.. any help?

Creating image maps is really quite simple. The best method would probably be to edit one of the existing materials. I'm not exactly sure how you want your material to look but if it is a tiled 900mm panel then the best method would be to create a tile... To do this edit or create a new material, in the browser there should be the word base. Down the bottom from there there is a button for new, click this and choose tile. Now simply setup the size of the tile you'd like and then assign materials for the joins and the tile itself. Alternatively you could setup a material in an image program with the desired seam and then use that as a map to the material, however getting it to the exact size may prove more difficult. To do this create your image in jpg format and then create a new material in accurender and click on the maps tab and choose add, find the desired image then set the scale, transparency, reflections etc and save and there you go... Hope this helps... Regards, Chris.
