I would like to be able to show which ceiling areas in an office refit are new by shading them a particular colour. However I would also like to be able to show the specific grids which relate to the tile sizes at the same time. Is there a way to both shade and show the ceiling grid? I can't work one out other than adding a annotated filled region over the top. Can hatch patterns be created that also have a shaded background colour?

See 1st image:

Set your view to shaded - create a material with a shaded color - see second image

For colored grid - over-ride graphics in view - see 3rd image

It seems that there was a problem with the material I created for the ceiling. I had previously duplicated the generic Revit ceiling tile and changed the hatch pattern to what I required. However with this material even when you change the colour in the material pallette it doesn't alter in any of the views (see attached). I can't work out why. So when I made a new material for the ceiling, gave it a colour and a hatch, voila! It worked.
