You probably need more interior lighting or a portal. Interior renderings require lots of light. Also you can dramatically alter the brightness and contrast etc after the render is done using the Image > Adjust Exposure dialog box. See attachment.

Not enough information.  This could be a phasing issue, but most likely you don't have your materials applied to the families correctly.

I think it's definitely the materials, not the lighting. I used to have renderings look like that in 3ds Max if it could no longer find the materials (wasn't mapped right, I had deleted the material, etc.). If all of the furniture is families that you downloaded, you may not have the materials it is looking for. Edit the family to use materials from the Autodesk library.

You can assign any material you want.

Are these families with CAD imports?   If so, then you assign materials by layer.

Then just change the materials...

First understand that if a family has uniquely named materials and has been loaded into a project, then THE PROJECT RULES!  The materials are now set in the project and you must change them there or delete the family and all of the materials from the project then change them in the family and reload/place the family in the project.

Open the family - each element is assigned a material -

No need to explode any groups....

Perhaps you should show us the family ... or post it.

Also - always say what Revit.

Just so you know this is a CAD file imported into a Revit family.  You need to fix the materials in the family itself.  As you can see from my images you are missing the image files for the materials.
