there is a line in the properites box for "visibility in option". this allows you to choose which option you want to see in that view. I was able to choose that in a site plan view and perspective (3D) view. It wasnt available in the elevation view. is there something I am missing?

A line in the properties for what?? There is no way of telling what you are doing if you don't give us the information.

my apologies. I have clicked on a view that is on a sheet. in the properties box there is a row that says "visibility in option". this allows you to choose which option you want to see in that view. this row was available in all the views on my sheet except the elevation view. so on this particular sheet I want to present option two of my bldg. all the views I can choose option 2 to show in the view except for the elevation view. the elevation view doesnt give me the row in the properties box to choose option two.

I have attached a screenshot of what I am trying to describe. I have a red box around the area I am speaking of.
