Is it possible to edit a model from revot to rhino? I exported my model from revit to rhino and I seem to have a problem editing it particularly trying to unroll the surface to create a template to card/laser cut it. Nothing gets selected when I try to select a poly surface when trying to unroll a surface in rhino. Is there a method which I can use to edit revit models easily in rhino? Sorry for the trouble, I am not too sure what I am doing since I just started using revit a few days ago.

My best guess is that you did not change it to an ACIS Solids when you exported it to Rhion. Check and see if its a Polymesh.

If it is a Polymesh take a look at the picture to change it to ACIS solids model.

Hope this helps

Hi there,

Hope this is not too late for a reply. But I was just surfing on the interenet hoping to find some tools that would help me take my Revit models to Rhino for further editing purposes. Usually I get the Rvit files from my Architectural team and it just doesn't fit in the Rhino environment at all. So, i found this tool called BIMDeX plugins especially for our use case - Revit to Rhino Exporter. This was super easy, I just like Exported the Revit model and then Imported inside my Rhino platform using their pluigins and surprisingly got the perfect model converted to Rhino with no loss in geomentry or such. Even the properties and material info was retained as it is. I guess, this might be a good deal, test it out if you have the time and share us your thoughts. I would be happy to think that i was able to help other as well...

Thanks!!
