Hi,

Just started using Revit 2013, have had the student version for a while and have only got started on my assignments recently, my issue is assign a surface pattern to a material, in this case a Metal deck roof, I edit the assembly click the builder button, assign the material, when the material editor dialogue box opens for surface pattern I assign the pattern from the fill pattern box i want ( I have done this both in drafting and model). This is were my problems start the pattern transfers to the material editor but as I go to apply it and close the dialogue boxes, the Fill pattern box reopens with the default top pattern and then the cycle begins again, I know I can work around by having no pattern and overiding graphics in view but the unit assesors want the pattern applied to the material, any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Scott O

What updates do you have installed?

I have installed updates 1 and 3, it has changed the problem slightly, the sequence of the fill patterns box re-opening after applying is still the same, although this time the material that I have assigned remains highlighted, previously it was reverting to the first pattern in the box, I am still unable to assign the surface pattern required.

Thanks

Scott O

How did you skip 2?  Not sure if that is a problem or not.

Audit your file.  Start a new one and see if it has problems.  If they both do, then it is your system.

I really recommend you go to 2014 at least since 2013 was a poor release.  Materials were a real problem.
