Guys so we have recieved a drawing from an architect and need to link it to revit in order that we can check the setting out against the architects setting out. 

Unfortunately when we do Revit throws this Error at us;

Can you please advise on what might be happening and how to resolve? 

We think it may be down to the co-ordinates used for the CAD drawing being completely different to those used for the Revit model?

Sorry I didnt mention. I'm using Revit 2015 but also attempted the same action on Revit 2014 with no joy.

I can't open that link.  Just use the built-in snipping tool and post the image.

There are many threads dealing with the 2 mile limit  (now 20 mile) if that is your problem.
