How does one return the treads against a wall as shown. I could in place something, but the railing would not follow the slope but end up horizontal at that point. I can draw the boundary, but cant get the treads to make a corner condition, like the sketch. any advice ?

The picture should be self-explanatory. Hope it helps.

OK, it worked in plan, but the 3d still shows a straight run... weird..

Here is the edit sketch. got it all perfect (i think). but the monolithic then converted stair I think is just a little buggy maybe. As you can see in the pic, a simple new stair (non monolithic) when edited, nicely turns.

Not as important, but notable, it adds 18 more treads to 36 (but it goes back to normal after finishing the sketch)

Monolithic stairs have always been a little troublesome.  Make sure you have all the uipdates installed because some of that problem was corrected in updates.

Aah monolithic, …wacky. If you’re willing to cheat/hack a little and like the output, take a look at the settings to make the stair to look as shown.

Or, you can build the bottom part as a separate stair.
