Hi,
I want to use an array (with associated parameter) within a profile family (Metric Profile Reveal). The profile will be used for wall reveals. I have a profile used in metal cladding (eg trapezoidal) so I want to be able to create a profile family where you can control the number of instances of the metal profile. The family works fine when editting the family itself - but when imported into a project it doesn't work and asks you to check that all lines are in closed loops. I think because the array makes groups it doesn't 'join' the lines although they are actually end to end. I have a feeling that the answer to this is that you can't do it - but has anyone had any success with this or found a workaround?
The alternative is to make one oversized reveal profile that is well above the height of any wall we're likely to model. I have a family that sizes the profile to an actual panel size so they can be dimensioned but these don't work every well when you add them to the structure of a wall.
Thanks

A profile family must be 1 (one) closed loop.

Thtat's the thing.. it is one continuous loop - but I think when you use an array Revit reads each group that it forms as separate to the next one even though the lines appear joined.

When it is like this then it is ONE LOOP.. I'm not trying to array the whole thing to have multiples ie. more than ONE loop- trying to array part of it within the loop. See attached image.
This isn't working as Revit doesn't read each group in the array as being joined - even though they are physically. But was wondering if there was another way to achieve the same thing?

Why array it at all? Just copy multiple and quit messing with it.

I wanted it to be parametric. I'll find an alternative solution.
Thanks for your input.
