Good afternoon

I have a project with hardie siding so I created a new wall type and siding profile attached within the assembly. Added the profile to the wall no problem. Looks good. However when I add 30"x30" windows to the wall assembly in plan or elevation it only cuts the profile opening down to one level of siding on each window.

See attached.

If I remove the profile from the assembly no worries the window opening is fully cut out. Any ideas why this would happen? Doors work fine. my larger windows cut...baffled.

Cheers

You are discovering that this is a poor process. Not only do in-place sweeps not work at inserts but these walls won't work right at gables and they can kill a model.

Revit's materials work very well for small displacements in materials like you have with masonry and siding.  Even metal siding with 1 1/2" displacement will render well with just materials.  Does it look right in close up views of corners?  No ... so you use detail work there.

If you must model these look at this post:
