I might be invited for an interview with the practical test (not a question test).
I know that this company is big, and in similar tests they asked to make a mass, mass floors, more than 10 levels, put walls and windows, make a rendering and organiza all this staff on a sheet.
What else could they ask to do in one hour? Rooms? Room or area legends? Schedules?
How creative can I be in this test?
I would be glad to hear any suggestions and opinions.
Thanks.

I don't use a lot of massing and I never have with revit so this must be a lot of different designing going on in this firm. 1 hour is not a lot of time to complete all of this so I am not sure what else they would ask. a practical test for me would be drawing floors, walls, windows doors etc, creating a schedule perhaps. I took a 15 minute test for my current job and it is not a lot of time at all especially when you don't know their revit layout. Good Luck!

Worksharing, Design options, parametric family(s), schedules (VVIMP). It totally depends on the kind of projects they are dealing with right now. It it's all about high-rise buildings then yes, Mass, Adaptive points (maybe, not sure).. a firm like Perkins+Will or SHoP will definately ask about that. I was asked in my interview, I told them I have theoritical knowledge of how it works but never got a chance to do it. That's a fact btw.. Back then, I didn't have a super computer or a REVIT program to practice with

Thanks. I am OK with phases - worked a lot with renovations.
Interestingly, for some Revit students it is the most difficult topic (of Revit fundamentals). When I exp;ained this, I "played" with them in "Back to the Future " film. It helped.
But in my case, I suspect, moght be also curtain walls and families.
Where in standard libraries are Curtain wall profiles? I cannot find them.

Profiles > Curtain Wall Profiles ... also check Mullions > Railings etcc.. I don't rem the exact location.
With Phases,,, there is always something new you don't know. It is a Pandora's box of Troubles !!!

I checked there - in Profiles, Curtain walls... Did not found. I downloaded 3 curtain wall profiles from RevitCity, but the software says that they are not of the required kind. Where else can I find these mullions?

Hi Glenlake,
Here was the thread you asked before. That should answer your curtain wall profile question.

Hope that was it. You also can create your own from any profile family template.
Good luck!

Thank you very much.
I worked with these curtain walls just once, long time ago, and still do not understand how it works. Tried everything what people recommended, but, probably only practice could help. Hope, R 17- R 20 will simplify this thing. And will make a slanted wall type available for us as well.
Again, deep gratitude for all who helped me during all this time.
