So I'm trying to model a roof similar to the one shown in the image. The problem I'd like to just create an in-place mass and do a roof by face. Unfortunately, the curve seems to not be a true "circle", so I'm getting some weird issues when trying to create it as a mass, either in revit or sketchup.

In sketchup, the mass imports fine, but comes with a lot of triangulation, which ... doesn't work for a roof by face I presume. So I tried creating it natively in sketchup, and I'm having a hell of a time just getting faces to create. I think have all the lines I need; any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

I'm using Revit 2013

Why are you trying to use a mass?  Just use a roof by footprint, it looks like that roof is not truley round from the picture, I can see some faint ridge lines on the circular part so it may be done in 3 or 4 arcs

I don't have a good reason as to why I didn't try making it with the footprint actually; I'll give that a try and report back.

I think I was set on using what the previous modelers had left me, and figured a mass would be the easiest way to replicate it for whatever reason.

Okay, so roof by footprint is working to a point. For some reason, despite the fact that the roofs have the same slope, situations as shown in the 'Circular Roof' slope photo occur. for some reason the curved part doesn't want to go as high as the ridge. If I change it manually, the slope become different.

A similar problem is happening with the roof hatch; as shown in the other photo, the hatch starts out aligning well, but then gets exponentially worse the closer to the edge it gets ... That roof in particular was made with slope arrows it seems.

***Forgot to add the photos, oops. Please see them attached.

"for some reason the curved part doesn't want to go as high as the ridge" If this is your problem then your circular roof is a different slope or has a different wall height (which looks like the case in the picture).

I see... I'll play around with the slope then and see if I can get it to work.

Forgive me for the double posts as well.

Okay, for whatever reason, as shown the previous posts picture, Revit makes the the curved part of the roof slope down for whatever reason ... no matter what I change its slope to, it will never be seamless with the rest of the roof because it insists on turning down at the top... Is this normal?

Without seeing your project its hard to say what your doing.  Can you upload a stripped verison of it with just the walls and roof only?

Sure, had to actually copy the roof from the main file (the file itself is entirely too big) and add dummy walls, but hopefully this makes it a bit more clear;

For starters your arcs on your wall are 2 different sizes so your roof will not work how you want it to, they should have the same radius.
