Hello, this is very specific but I haven't found a straightforward answer.

I have a curtain panel family and I’m trying to figure out how to make it the most size efficient and user friendly. Its currently just 500KB but has 11 instance parameters and 5 type parameters. There are 550 panels in the project and I know instance parameters can really bog things down if there are a lot of instances of a family.  I’m wondering if it would be better to convert all the instance parameters to type parameters, resulting in 40 different types in the one family (just figuring that out was a chore). I could also break it into two families of 20 types (the curtain panels on the top level are slightly different than all the other floors, doubling the number of types, so perhaps it could be better as its own family?). I am in Revit 2014.

Thanks

I'm confused at what you are actually doing, you have 40 different curtain panel families? Can you attach an image of your project with 550 panels?
