So I'm playing around with line styles in Revit 2014 but I can't seem to get anything but the default styles to display. I'm simply trying to get shafts to appear as dashed instead of solid and I've changed both the object styles and the graphic overrides to a dashed line but still nothing. Oddly enough, when I select the object, the lines are highlighted in whatever pattern I choose, but the typical display refuses to change. Any ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks

Are you sure you want the shaft or do you really want the opening?
Shafts are really a void cut and are invisible unless you roll over them. The opening cut by the slab is really just the floor and defined by the line assigned to that. If you want the opening dashed then you will have to use the linework tool. (I don't know why you would want an opening dashed.)
