I am creating some walls etc  I want the floor plans in realistic view.  But the basic windows show the wall material at their sill .  (see attached file)

Do I have to edit the family to creat a "white" sill ?

Many Thanks

Your window appears to be set to transparent because you can see this stone even through the jambs.

How did you get this stone on the sill?  A normal window cuts the wall but will not show wall material in the cut area.

This is so simple... go to the modify tab and use the Paint tool- you can then add any material you wish to the inside of the opening.  WWHUB you can paint any surface in 3D view as well... hope this helps.

RyanHoffman,

We know you can paint materials in 3D.  That is NOT the question or answer.

The poster probably already painted the sill cut but he also may have provided that in the window family.  Obviously both you and I don't know what he/she did.  Removing the transparency over-ride, or VG setting or material transparency from the window will probably solve the problem.  Or possibly setting the family's sill component visible in plan view in the family.   But again, we don't know what the person did.

Its the basic window, and generic 300 wall with a material applied and set to realistic render in plan view. More views and my settings.

Many thanks

Did you read this "...Removing the transparency over-ride, or VG setting or material transparency from the window will probably solve the problem.  ...."?

In the Plan view... right click on the window and check the over-rides.

Check the VG settings for the plan view.

And .... what you posted for the material doesn't mean anything without seeing the material name and what the material is set to in the window family.

Here is the stock window.  NOTE the material name.  NOTE that these solids are not set to show in plan nor section!
