Just a question. i am looking to hire new staff and would like to have Revit users who can also produce renderings.

What the consensus be for technical Revit Users vs Revit Users who can also produce marketing renders with Revit.

Do you mean what criteria you should look for? Or a way to test their abilities?

A portfolio featuring renderings produced directly from or using Revit would exhibit their output.

Technically, are you only going to use Revit for renderings? Or a combination of Revit, 3DS Max Design or other external rendering program, Photoshop or another editing program? Autodesk admits the render engine with Revit is not their strongest and recommend using 3DS Max Design in conjunction with Revit.

Personally, if I were the potential new staff member, I'd want a clear picture of what resources I would have to create the rendering as far as programs and hardware investment.

Using Revit2014, dragging the rest of the company with me from AutoCAD2008. When will the whining stop?

See attached our standard work station. Clarifying the question.

In the industry Out of say 20 Revit users on the market how many would be able to render in 3D max and Revit.

Revit produces fair renderings. I have completed some for Lowe's which look almost photo realistic.

In house we have 3ds Max Design 2014 - English

Revit 2014

AutoCAD 2014

Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)
