Hello,

I am transferring a project from autoCAD to Revit and I faced the problem, where the existing house has architraves arround the windows and doors.

Could you help me to achieve the visual effect on this?

Thanks in advance!

I assume these go over the door as well.

You have several options.

  • Edit your door family and include them as sweeps there.
  • Create a face or wall based family (parametric width &height?
  • Do in-place sweeps (wall category)

Thank you for your reply.

As it is a part of the wall, probably would be a good idea to choose option 2 or 3. Just, I think, those two options won't react if door/window size will be changed and will have to be changed manually. Is it rigth?

Thanks

The first will react with the door change.

The second will not be in the wall category and could be placed in the door family so it too could be automatic.

Only the third option can be in the wall category but it will not act like a wall because it will not have layers unless you create them seperatly while creating the family.  This in-place will not automatically react to door size change.
