I am having problems with a rendering issue. I have placed tecessed lights in a ceiling at the roof level and everything is fine with the rendering. When I place the same lights in a ceiling that is under a floor. The lights won't render. The floor seems to be the problem it blocks the lights somehow, because if I delete the floor and just have the ceiling showing everything renders fine. What do I need to do to resolve this issue.

Thanks Ed

Revit is 3D and works just like reality.  The lights you place are going into your floor and that blocks them.  In real life, you would have to either have a lower ceiling or use a different light.  I suggest you do the same.

Lowering the ceiling is not an option. How would you suggest placing a recessed light fixture in the ceiling so the light will not be blocked out byfloor?

I don't know what you are modeling.  If the floor is solid, then in reality, you would have to have a different light.  If you modeled a floor that has joists as a solid that includes the joist space and your lights could be recessed between the joists,  then you modeled the floor incorrectly and I suggest you change that.

I changed the floor to joists from a solid floor and that worked.

Thanks for the suggestion.
