is there a way to cut voids out of roofs.  need to cut bits out of this existing conditions roof:  http://screencast.com/t/6B77plcTw

My solution is to create an in place roof model and apply voids.  Wondering if this can be done within the "roof" function.

We can't tell what you want to cut from your images.   You can sketch the edges of your roof and even openings while doing your roof sketch.  You can also use the opening tool and you can create in-place void families (roof category) and set those to cut your roof.
