-Revit MEP 2012-

I was trying to create a parameter for a model I'm working on where the length of a dimension changes depending on which nested model is selected from another drop down parameter of family types (generic models)

Basically if Model 1 is selected from a drop down nested Family Type parameter, Dimension A is 3" and if Model 2 is selected from the drop down, Dimension A is 6".

Trying to use the arropriate terms, I'm referring to the Family Type parameter and not the Family Type header that pulls from type catalogs.

Any help or advice would be great.

Thanks.

You need a reference plane in the family that you dimension to in the model and that reference plane is controlled by your parameter.

I appreciate the advice. Can you offer any help with the formation of the formula? I've never been able to include a family type parameter In a formula before.
