Hi there,

I want to snap to the inside faces of the walls in a detail callout, to add in a filled region, but it does not snap.  The layers in the floor snap fine but the layers in the wall section does not.  Is it because the wall section is being cut at an angle, because it is not parallel to the cut plane?

Yes, you are correct.  You can not align, snap to or dimension to faces that are not parallel or perpindicular to your cut plane.
