Adjusting my model had revit delete an instance of a stair. So I re-drew it. but now the posts on the railing dont go to the stair, it stands off. Went into backup file and cut and pasted the stair that I knew was OK. adjusted it a little and its still good. See picture. The stairs are the same family. yet when I select them, the comp says multiple families selected. also the names are slightly different, with the new stair being called "assembled" but when you go to the type choices, there is only the basic railing (thats not being used) and the new one that I want..
How can the new stairs posts touch the stair properly like the cut and pasted stair of the exact same type?

You can create stairs by assembly or stairs by sketch. The sketched stairs would not have a landing.
The railings should be the same if they are both the same family.
